This controller packs a high-performance microprocessor and RAM, plus a real-time clock, status LED indicators, an INIT button, and a CompactFlash interface—perfect for handling data processing and storage in industrial setups.

On the base plate, you’ll find two RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1, CN2) to hook up to the Control Network, and two RJ45 serial ports (COM3, COM4). COM3 is an RS-232C port with modem control signals, while COM4 is isolated and used specifically for connecting a configuration tool.

Mounting or removing it from DIN rails is a breeze, thanks to the unique slide & lock design. Every base plate has a unique Ethernet address that gives the CPU its own hardware ID—just check the Ethernet address label on the TP830 base plate to find it.

It works with stable power input, has reliable isolation between interfaces and circuits, and holds up well against interference. It’s ideal for core control jobs in industrial automation systems and pairs smoothly with ABB’s series of I/O modules.
